Warzone

Another band with confusion surrounding their demos thanks to Raybeez and bootleggers. They only had 2 demos, one of which has two versions, and a tape recorded specifically for Some Records (an old records store on the LES that supported the NYC punk & hardcore scenes). The As One Demo, Some Records Demo, and the Lower East Side Crew 7 inch are all the Warzone you need. The band peaked in '86/'87 with everything else paling in comparison.

Tommy Rat Demo (1984)
1. Take A Stand [early version of As One]
2. United Front
3. Not This Time
4. Do Unto Others
5. Closed In
6. Paranoia Kills
7. Trouble
8. Depths of Reality

Very noisy, sounds more like a practice tape. Interesting for the early version of As One. Raybeez-era Warzone played some of these songs ('Do Unto Others' and 'Paranoia Kills') at least through mid-'86. [Both were played at the 7/6/86 CBGB show that trades.] Tommy Rat went on to front Rejuvenate and Trip 6. Mostly for completionists.

As One Demo (1986)
1. As One
2. War Between The Races
3. It’s Your Choice
4. Will You Ever Come Back
5. Under 18
6. Wound Up

As One Demo (1987 version)
1. As One (alternate version)
2. War Between The Races (alternate version)
3. It’s Your Choice
4. Will You Ever Come Back
5. Under 18
6. Wound Up
7. Don’t Forgot The Street Kids (Live) (from the Some Records Demo)
8. 12XU (Live)
9. Young Til I Die (Live)

Arguably the most well known & heavily traded NYHC demo. From the story I've been told, after Revelation released the Lower East Side Crew 7 inch it was impossible to find in NYC it was selling so fast. So Raybeez supposedly made 50 copies of the As One demo, adding 3 live songs and swapping in 2 alternate versions of the first two songs, and sold them at Some Records. I have a copy of the '87 version (sourced directly from someone I know that owns one of the original 50). The "alternate versions" are only slightly different, barely noticeable really. It's unknown where the last two live songs came from.

Some Records Demo (1986) a.k.a. Street Kids demo
1. Don’t Forget The Struggle
2. Escape Your Society
3. Fighting For Our Country
4. In The Mirror
5. Wound Up
6. As One
7. Patterns of Hate
8. Under 18
9. War Between The Races
10. Will You Ever Come Back
11. Fuck Your Attitude
12. We’re The Crew
13. Power For Living
14. Young 'til I Die

"This tape is for Duane at Some Records..." says it all. Warzone supposedly made this tape "exclusively" for Some Records, a records store where they band hung out. Everyone wants to get their hands on the As One Demo, but this is (or was) the one thing nobody could get their dirty, sticking paws on. Someone eventually bootlegged this, cutting off Raybeez's dedication at the beginning, and called it the Street Kids Demo. Probably to trick the hardcore kids into thinking it was something different and thereby cheating them out of their hard earned $$$.
